Cheap Business and First class from New York to Paris
When it comes to air travel, nothing beats the experience of excellent first class service on a long-haul flight. Lie-flat beds, gourmet cuisine and good wine, excellent entertainment viewed on large personal screens and enjoyed through high-quality headphones, all topped off by personalized service are a godsend.
Advantages of Flying First Class
Better still, you enjoy the perks of traveling in premium class even before you step aboard a plane – accelerated check-in, quality lounges and preferential boarding privileges will put a smile on your face as soon as you reach the airport.
If you intend to travel from New York to Paris in a first class seat, only the French national carrier, Air France, operates direct flights with that option.
These are overnight flights that have a scheduled flight time of 7 hours 25 minutes to complete the journey from New York's JFK International Airport (JFK) to Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Air France uses A38-800 quad-jets that operate at a cruising altitude of 11,280 m.
If you opt for business class, there is a lot more variety on offer. Besides the Air France flights that offer both first class and business class, legacy carriers like British Airways, United and American Airlines, and all-business airline, La Compagnie also ply this route.
The La Compagnie flight is the shortest at just 7 hours 15 minutes long on its Boeing 757-200 plane from Newark’s Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in Paris. It features angled flat seats. United also flies this route but takes 10 minutes longer and makes up with seats that lie completely flat. It cruises at an altitude of 10,050 m on Boeing 767-400 twin-jets.
American Airlines and British Airways both depart New York from Newark Airport but while the American 767-300 lands at Charles de Gaulle, the British 757-200 lands at Paris Orly Airport (ORY). Both flights take 7 and a half hours and give business passengers lie-flat seats.
Airports in Paris
There are three airports in Paris, but only two that are served by flights from New York – Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY).
CDG in Roissy is situated about 35 km north of Paris city center and the journey by road will take you just over half an hour. Orly, to the south of the city is much closer, just 13 km away so the trip can be completed in less than 15 minutes in normal traffic.
Charles de Gaulle airport is also connected to Paris by a high-speed rail system. On the other hand, you will have to catch the light rail system, Orlyval, to RER, the Paris urban transit rail system.
